    • Shiva Temple Aarti Maha Kumbh 2025 Bengaluru Techie Suicide Kolkata Supply Of Water Nikita Singhania Govt cautions against consuming jatropha curcas fruits!.?.!Pearl.DSouza@timesofindia.com/ Dec 4, 2024, 23:53 IST Share AA + Text Size Small Medium Large Follow us Bengaluru: After a group of 5 females and 8 children were hospitalised from consuming Jatropha curcas seeds in Chamarajanagar district recently, the food safety commissionerate has actually warned about the possibility of public health being impacted due to consumption of dangerous fruits.Commissioner of food security, Srinivas K, stated while all parts of jatropha curcas plants are poisonous, the seeds contain a high concentration of ricin and are more poisonous."The adverse effects after taking in the seeds are vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach discomfort and a burning sensation in the throat.
      Vomiting and diarrhoea happen within fifteen minutes of usage. Also, considering that the seeds have an enjoyable taste, there is a possibility of a higher effect on the health of kids, "Srinivas warned about the evergreen tropical plant with thin stems.Thirteen members of Banjara (nomadic) neighborhood who were hospitalised at Kollegal taluk healthcare facility in Chamarajanagar were discharged in a day. One child with intellectual specials needs was kept in observation before being discharged, district health officer, Chamarajanagar, Chidambara S told TOI.He stated
      members of the community were in Kollegal for sugarcane-cutting work.
